Space, Time, and Motion

In the 2010s, Clark created depictions of his concepts about space, time, and motion. In the mostly black-and-white painting, 1/1, 100 years of human life (a thin, multi-colored horizontal band) crosses through optically-mesmerizing, vertical black and white stripes that represent the history of human consciousness. In essence this puts our lives and our own consciousness in the middle of the evolution of human consciousness.

In another painting, Chronosphere, a white circle at the edge of the canvas illustrates time/distance of the speed of light; while the print Transmission portrays electro-magnetic waves (e.g., light, radio waves) moving through time and space.
